Review & Giveaway: Smith Farms Bath & Body Products*

This giveaway is now closed. Please scroll to the bottom to see the winner! I love natural bath and body products, and especially enjoy those that are made in Canada. Supporting local businesses matters to me, so I was excited to hear about Smith Farms (Quebec) and their line of natural bath and beauty items.

Rebecca, at Smith Farms kindly sent me a few products to try: shea butter lip balm, beer soap, and their marshmallow face cream. All of their products are made with natural and organic ingredients, and I love how transparent they are on their website about what their products do and do not contain.

I have to say, first off, that I'm already halfway through the lip balm -- it's fantastic and really moisturizes as it protects my lips. I have lips that chap easily, but they don't bother me much as long as I remember to use this balm.

The beer soap is also great -- I'm a big fan of beer soap and it has been a gift more than once for my husband. This particular one is made with Bierbrier Ale, a Quebec microbrew, giving it a local flavour that other beer soaps have lacked. It has a great and lasting lather, making it great for a shaving soap. If you're looking for a fun stocking stuffer, this is it! My only complaint is that, at this time, there's only the one soap. I'd like to see them branch out and have a few different ones, sampling different beers!

The Marshmallow Face Cream was my favorite of the three items. I have sensitive skin that tends to oiliness, and I found this cream a little rich to wear during the day. It makes for an excellent night cream for me though, and the scent of orange blossom is a lovely for falling asleep. This is going to be a new favorite for me -- up until now, my go-to night cream has been Green Beaver's Olive Oil and Green Tea Moisturizer. This cream is much lighter, creamier and less greasy-feeling than the Green Beaver cream and I find the scent really delicious. It also has a great price point, $26.00/60ml -- a little goes a long way and this bottle will last me quite awhile.

Smith Farms have a number of other items I can't wait to try -- among them, their Honeysuckle Hair and Body Oil. I wonder if it could help tame my frizzy, yet arguably straight hair? And I'm such a sucker for a good lavender soap!

You can easily order their products on their website, and they are also available to purchase at a number of  locations in Quebec and Ontario, including here in Ottawa.

Now you get a chance to try the same Smith Farms products I did! Leave your name and email address in a comment below, along with the name of the Smith Farms product you'd most like to try in the New Year.
